Ardeshir Bayat (MBBS PhD) is a clinician scientist with a tenured faculty position (senior associate professor) at the University of Manchester, England, UK. He leads a translational research group with an international reputation in design & development of biocompatible implants, implant-related capsular contracture pathobiology, and tissue fibrosis. He has made an impact in his field with bridging science and technology from bench to bedside by introducing innovative biomimetic topography in implant surfaces, enhancing tissue healing plus repair as well as novel ways of reducing fibrosis. He has published extensively (H index, 49) with more than 400 published original manuscripts, abstracts, and book chapters. He and his team have given more than 500 national and international podium and poster presentations. He acts as an international grant reviewer and as an associate editor for several journals.
