Alexander Yarin

Distinguished Professor, University of Illinois at Chicago

Alexander Yarin is currently a Professor at the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago, USA. He studied and worked in Leningrad and Moscow before becoming Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in 1990. His background is in applied physics, fluid mechanics and rheology and he has authored 2 books, 6 book chapters, 176 research articles in professional journals and 4 patents. He is one of the three co-Editors of “Springer Handbook of Experimental Fluid Mechanics”, 2007, and an Associate Editor of the journal “Experiments in Fluids”.
